SOUTH WALES COALITION TO STOP THE WAR

9.1.03
1. Just to remind you that the demonstration in Cardiff is on Saturday January
18th. We are meeting outside City Hall at 12 p.m. and moving off at 12.30 p.m.
and there will be a rally afterwards at the end of the march.

We have organised a banner and placard making session at 3.30 p.m. at Cathays
Community Centre on Saturday January 11th.

We are having a stall in Queen St. as usual at 2 p.m. outside Marks and Spencer
on Saturday Jan 11th, and again at the university on Monday and Wednesday at 1
p.m. outside the Students Union. If you can lend a hand for an hour with this or
the banners, that would be great.

We want to cover Cardiff with posters and leaflets. If anyone can help in
distributing these, please contact me as soon as is convenient.

2. Fairford USAF Base is one of 3 worldwide that has been expanded to take B2
Stealth Bombers, which can deliver the ‘new’ smaller weapons. There is a
demonstration organised for Sunday January 26th at Fairford. We have decided to
put on a coach for this event, and tickets are available ( must book) from
Teresa Mitchell on 02920 705458, e-mail Tree.Mitchell@btopenworld.com price £5
unwaged £10 waged. Coach leaves Museum steps at 10 a.m. The organisers are
asking people to dress up in decontamination white suits.

3. There is a postcard signing on Saturday January 11th at 11 a.m. outside the
St. Fagans Pub in Penarth. Please come and help.

4. The Stop the War conference is taking place in London on Jan 11th. Details
and orders for T-shirts, ( Not in My Name or Don’t Attack Iraq), badges etc
please let Teresa Goss know asap. Anyone is welcome to attend, but only
delegates get to vote.

5. Tuesday January 21st CND and the Iraqi Liaison Group are lobbying
Parliament. If you want to go, get in contact with Teresa Mitchell as above. It
would be a good idea to inform your M.P. and see if he/she is available to talk
to you.

6. Don’t forget the demonstration on February 15th in London ( in common with
thousands of other protesters all around the world) tickets bookable through
swcoalitionagainstthewar@hotmail.com - £8unwaged/£15 waged

Pam Caerdydd? Dwi'm yn gweld San Steffan yn cymyd llawr o sylw.

I gael sylw hollol, dylech mynd i brotestio yn Llundain ac i enwud rhywbeth mawr fel y cyhoedd yn torri trwy gatiau Buckingham Palace. Wneith hynny cael sylw y llywodraeth er mwyn i nhw weld praint mor o ddifri yr ydych.

Cytuno, os dyw'r llywodraeth ddim yn gwrando ar y cynulliad yn aml, new nhw byth poeni am brotestwyr yn y "provinces", ma nhw siwr o fod yn falch i gadw pethau allan o Lundain, allan o sylw media y byd.

Sylwer pwynt rhif 6.

Ochr yn ochr a dangos i'r llywodraeth fod gwrthwynebiad cryf i ryfel yn y Gwlff mae angen dangos hefyd i bobl ar y stryd fod yna lais cryf o Gymru yn erbyn rhyfel. Mae gweld torf ar y stryd yn Nghaerdydd yn mynd i roi ffocws i beth mae llawer o bobl yn feddwl ac mae'n gyfle i ddosbarthu gwybodaeth am y gwir resymau pam fod Bush yn mynd ati mor benderfynnol i ddinistrio Irac.

Wedi gweld y newyddion ar y teledu heno, mae'n nhw wedi cynnal pol piniwn sy'n dangos fod 53% o bobl (prydain) yn erbyn unrhyw fath o ryfel yn Irac. Allan o'r gweddill mae 34% yn erbyn rhyfel heb gefnogaeth y Cenhedloedd Unedig.
Mae hyn yn meddwl dim ond 13% o bobl sydd o blaid y peth. Mae angen i Tory Blair edrych ar ystadegau fel hyn yn ofalus.

Os yw hyn yn wir wedi mae democratiaeth wedi dechrau diflannu o'r wlad. Dwi'n cytuno dylid danfon llythr unigol at bob un o'r bobl ar restr Mabon (Cardi Bach). Mae'n ddyletswydd ac yn natur eu swyddi i ddarllen ac i roi rhyw fath o ymateb i'r llythyrau hyn, hyd yn oed os yw'n circular,
"The [insert position here] thanks you for your letter and will endeavour to take note of the interesting and important points raised.
Yours etc,
