“I am Monkey, great sage equal of Heaven!” proclaimed Monkey by way of introduction.
“Lister,” replied Lister. “This is Rimmer, Kryten and - Cat? What the smeg are you doing??”
Cat had that look in his eyes, and was carefully polishing his personal cutlery set.
“I’m going to eat you, little fishie!” he sang at Sandy, who looked alarmed as Cat bared his fangs and licked his lips.

The skulls Sandy wears have an origin of their own: First it should be noted that the River of the Flowing Sands where Sandy lived has a unique peculiarity - nothing will float in it. When Sandy was cast down into the River of Flowing Sands, he began attacking and eating any pilgrims that came near the river. He would let the skeletons sink to the bottom when he was finished. However, nine skulls refused to sink, continuing to float on top of the river until Sandy grabbed them and strung them together to make a necklace.

Sandy later emerged from the Pond and begun eating people. At one point, he ate a French man who was riding a bicycle and wearing a black and white stripey jumper, with a string of onions around his neck. After a particularly tasty meal, if perhaps a little too strong on the garlic, Sandy felt inspired enough to copy the onion hanging ritual. However, after several weeks, it became clear to him that he was allergic to the pungeont stench of the onions which caused him to weep constantly like a pus-ridden sore. So, instead, he replaced the onions with cheap, plastic skulls he bought for a few pence from a novelty shop.

The Buddha (in female aspect) in person is called in to deal with Monkey. They meet on top of the Himalayas. Buddha makes Monkey a wager. If he can fly from her hand, she will give him control of heaven.
Monkey calls up a cloud and seemingly flies to the (strangely flesh-coloured) 5 pillars at the end of the Universe. To prove that he was there, Monkey decides to leave his mark with "a bit of graffiti" While there Monkey also relieves himself behind one of the pillars
Returning to Buddha, it is revealed that Monkey never actually left her hand, and Monkey has left his graffiti (and another calling card) on Buddha's hand. He has lost the bet.
