dawncyfarwydd a ddywedodd:Beth ydi'r broblem? Mae yna bobol yn fodlon talu llawer o arian am areithiau. Mae cyn-brif weinidogion yn gallu gofyn am swm go deidi. Ddylai Brown beidio ceisio gwneud arian er mwyn sicrhau dyfodol ariannol ei deulu? Dydw i ddim yn hoffi Blair na Brown ond beth ar y ddaear sy'n bod ar dderbyn arian gan bobl sy'n dymuno iddyn nhw siarad efo nhw?
The former prime minister is to earn more than £200,000 at twin international conferences in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur next month – speaking about how to become a success and make lots of money
If anyone knows about making money, it is Mr Blair. It emerged last week that he kept secret for nearly two years payment for advice to an oil firm with drilling interests in Iraq, as well as a £1m deal to advise the Kuwaiti royal family.
The committee finally published details last week. His work took his earnings since quitting Downing Street in July 2007 to an estimated £20m, which includes the £4.6m deal for his book, The Journey, to be published in September. While Mr Blair's office denied that the advice to UI Energy was related to its work in Iraqi oilfields, the revelation fuelled concerns that he is using his contacts as Middle East envoy to enrich himself.
TONY BLAIR has been cashing in on his contacts from the Iraq conflict and his role as Middle East peace envoy for a private business venture expected to earn him more than £5m a year.
The former prime minister has sold his political and economic expertise to two countries, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates, via his fledgling private consultancy. He also represents the investment bank JP Morgan in the region.
Blair has been working in the Middle East as a peace envoy while amassing a fortune from the American lecture circuit. His consultancy, the London-based Tony Blair Associates (TBA), emulates the New York partnership Kissinger Associates, which was founded by Henry Kissinger, the former national security adviser to President Nixon. One friend of Blair said: “TBA has been set up to make money from foreign governments and major companies. There’s a focus on the Middle East, because that’s where the money is.”
His expanding business interests as he roves across the Middle East means he flips his roles on a daily basis in official meetings: one hour, he is the official peace envoy meeting a Middle East minister or ruler; the next, he is a representative of TBA or JP Morgan.
