Amanda Doyle, Orange a ddywedodd:Thank you for your letter of the 27th May
In relation to the Welsh language, Orange has undertaken a number of initiatives in its Welsh stores. In particular all stores have opening hours and door push/pull signs in both Welsh and English. Some depending on practicality have “croeso” mats and the Bangor store has additional point of sale material in Welsh. All stores have pre-pay registration forms in Welsh, pre-pay accounting for the majority of the business transacted in the Welsh stores. Further, policy is to recruit Welsh speakers, where possible, and Welsh speakers are available in the Carmarthen, Bangor and Llanelli stores. Steps have also been taken to ensure that those people are identified as Welsh speakers when on the shop floor.
Orange is aware of the views of Cymdeithas yr iaith Gymraeg, howerer, it is satisfied that the steps it has taken are reasonable and has no definitive plans to extend the use of Welsh at this time.
Yours sincerely
Amanda Doyle
